Pantene Beautiful Lengths

A while back, my two oldest daughters and I went to get major haircuts. In case you didn’t know this, if your hair is long enough, you can donate your hair to several different charities that make wigs for people going through cancer and chemotherapy. The amount of hair to qualify for donation varies from company to company.

The advice and information started pouring in from those around me, regarding where I should send this envelope full of hair. After doing a bit of research, we decided to go with “Pantene Beautiful Lengths” because they seemed to offer the most benefits with the least hardship to the wig recipients. Also, our ponytail donations were all about 8 inches in length, and that’s the minimum length for Pantene. Our ponytails were too short for some of the other charities.

So, finally, after having three Ziploc baggies full of beautiful hair sitting in my bathroom for about two years, we mailed them off today. LOL. Better late than never. I like to think my timing will ultimately be for a reason. Someone is going to get a wig made with our hair and maybe it will be the perfect match for them.

If you’re about to get a big summer haircut, and go from long hair to short hair, consider donating your hair as well. Likewise, if you have donated your hair and have photos or testimonials to share, please share in the comments. I’d love to see how everyone else’s experience played out.
