    Review of Pearl Harbor Base

Aloha! I’m going to review some places I visited on my recent trip to Hawaii. A lot of focus will be directed to military exclusive locations. We stayed on the “Joint Base Pearl Harbor.” We were lodged back in an area “attached” to Arizona Hall, referred to as the “1500 Series.” The place where we were lodged wasn’t much to write home about, really. It was nicer than other on base options, it was safe and clean, but we weren’t there to experience the “posh” lodging options available on the island, we were there to support a mission. Rather, MY HUSBAND (DaddySnap), and his fellow Airmen were there to support…

    National Donut Day 2018!

Hey SnapBackers! Happy National Donut Day! Not sure how this became a real thing, but let’s roll with it. It’s a reason to eat discounted fresh donuts rather than day old stale bricks from the grocery store. Haha Depending where you live, there are lots of deals available. Here in Bloomington, Square Donuts gives you a coupon for any purchase. The coupon is good on a return visit for the next year Jacks Donuts was offering a $.75 cake donut, but by the time we got there at 10:30 AM, they were sold out of donuts completely. We had fun at Square Donuts though. They’re open until 2pm. Head over…

    Hawaii!

Aloha SnapBackers! Well, I recently returned from a short but fun filled trip to Hawaii. I went a lot of places and saw a lot of things, and I am ready to start passing all the info along to you all. I’m going to try to make a post every day or two with another amazing Hawaii find. A lot of what I did was with military perks, so if you know any military families that like to vacation, pass this along to them as well. Every military family with a future plan to visit Hawaii will want to see this stuff! It was an amazing time away from the…

    McCormick’s Creek Spring 5k

Happy 5K season SnapBackers! Our first ever MommaSnapsBack running group formed today. Ok, so, Emily and Cheri ran, what I did could not really qualify as running, but I DID FINISH! That’s important!!! 😀 I told these ladies (very dramatically, because I just AM dramatic) to RUN  AHEAD and to not let me hold them back. haha. I’m proud of them! They both had great run times. There was a point during the race where I got lapped by at least a 1 mile gain, by a 9 year old from my daughters class!!! LOL 🙂 So, I SPRINTED to gain ground. That sprint lasted .19 mi. lol. Hey, I…

    Launch Party!!!

Hey SnapBackers! So, we officially launched the MommaSnapsBack blog last Friday and it was totally fun! We met up at Olive Garden and just had a fun girls night out. Breadsticks, Salad, Bellini Tea… all the best for my friends 😉 I made all the ladies in attendance go and subscribe to my blog and made them basically pinky swear to support me by liking, sharing and commenting on all my posts. lol. Then I passed out personalized “www.MommaSnapsBack.com” merchandise as a thanks for their support. (Look at those little winners!) I brought my 9 year old, SugarSnap along to be my helper. (She also took a  live video, look…

    Homemade Laundry Detergent

Mmmmmm… (deep breath in) Smell that freshly grated Fels Naptha. Nothing else like it! The sensory experience with the added financial savings ($$$), there’s no reason NOT to make your own laundry detergent. **This Post Contains Affiliate Links** I used to spend around $30/month on laundry detergent. A family from church sent us a military appreciation care package with a sample of their homemade detergent and the recipe. I wasn’t so sure of using a powder detergent over my usual goopy blue liqiud detergent, but hey, it was free so I tried it out. LOVED IT! When we ran out, the kids and I used the simple recipe and made…

Kick Soda to the Curb in 3 steps

This is a “mind over matter” situation. No hypnotherapy or freaky deeky voodoo. Plain and simple willpower and making good choices every single time. When my husband and I were dating, we would sit around and dream up our future life and what it would look like. His sister, Kim, had 3 kids and they all preferred to drink WATER when given drink choices!!! This confused us, but we admired them. The more we thought about it, the more we wanted our future kids to drink water instead of soda. We decided that we needed it to be a part of our family culture that we are just a household…

    MommaSnaps Healthier Shrimp Fajitas

MommaSnaps Healthier Shrimp Fajitas Recipe This recipe is so QUICK and EASY and DELICIOUS! Your family will think you’re a genius! (LIGHTBULB) I love Shrimp, all the different ways, like that guy “Bubba” from Forrest Gump. Fried shrimp, grilled shrimp, popcorn shrimp, shrimp fajitaaaaaas… One of my all time favorite ways to cook shrimp at home is to make up a batch of shrimp fajitas. Shrimp is very low fat by nature, so it is a very versatile ingredient for adding healthy fats and eating in a keto/THM S setting or keep it low fat and eat some healthy carbs for a THM E. Good for everyone. Thumbs up all…

    Welcome to Momma Snaps Back

Hello World! I’m starting a blog! Finally, right? Well, Folks (otherwise known as all my friends and family from social media and church) have been telling me for years that my life is so crazy, so beautiful, so hopelessly distressed that I should DEFINITELY write about it. Well, “Folks”, here you go! MommaSnapsBack, is born today! She came into the world kicking and screaming at a whopping 10 lbs and 21 inches long. We all have high hopes for her. 🙂 The “MommaSnapsBack” thing is truly near and dear to my heart for many reasons, which I will now bore you with, but please stick with me. You probably know…
